When I Was a Kid is a family-run internet shop based in the village of Earl Barton in Northamptonshire. With an emphasis on “no plastic, no batteries” we aim to provide a very swift but friendly and polite service.

When I Was a Kid sells traditional toys, wooden toys and gifts and a wonderful range of party bag fillers. Emphasis is made in sourcing traditional toys that are not available in many of the well known high street stores; we try to stock a full range of such toys with many bringing back fond memories from your childhood. The majority of the wooden toys are made using timber sourced from rubber wood trees that are too old to produce latex. In the past these trees would have been burnt but now they are re-used to create innovate wooden toys.

Our Pocket money toys start at £1 – and with prices going up to over £100 there is something for every budget. All of the wooden toys can be purchased as toys on their own with additional discounts available for larger numbers to fill those party bags!

Customers can purchase toys with confidence using most major debit or credit cards processed via a secure website or for those that prefer, you can order over the telephone.
