In The Club with Sam, you can hear a very hairy tale, from 1001 Arabian Nights, of a princess, a sultan, a genie and a shipwreck, and an unlucky pirate who keeps getting transformed into a baboon!

It is the new story on Fun Kids, Sheherazade or The Princess, the Pirate and the Baboon! from Grandma Dingley’s Ingeniously Musical Tales.

Starring Brian Blessed and Rory Bremner, you can hear this 5-part story throughout the week from 4pm in The Club with Sam.

Grandma Dingley’s “Ingeniously Musical Tales” are told with music played by a full symphony orchestra, which is a big group of musicians playing musical instruments like violins, cellos, trumpets, trombones, clarinets, bassoons, drums and many more.

These tales are a fun way to get to learn about the incredible sound-world of classical music.

The Music

All the fantastic music in this story was written by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, who was a Russian composer who lived a long time ago.

He was born on 18th March 1844, which means if he was alive today he’d be 167 years old!
