Re-design your road, park, town, or shopping centre and win prizes for you and your school with RTPI!

How would you make your local area more sustainable?

You are the next generation to live on planet Earth!

The Royal Town Planning Institute, who are in charge of town planning, which is essentially making sure that the layout of your town makes sense, are holding a competition!

They want you to get outside and use your knowledge of geography, science, design, and the environment to make your place more sustainable.

Basically, they want you to have a go at re-doing your town!

Winning entries will receive prizes for themselves and their school as well as free membership of the RTPI

Show them how you can make your local place more:

  • Inclusive: Planning for everyone, regardless of age or ability.
  • Resilient: Plan for a place that can withstand weather and climate change but also see big changes in the amount of people in the local area
  • Sustainable: Plan a place that improves life without damaging the environment!

Pick a street, a park, a shopping centre, or your entire town or village, and then start drawing.

Draw five images that show how you can make your chosen place better.

Remember, your ideas need to be innovative, practical and presented in a creative way!
