Tiger Territory at ZSL London Zoo

ZSL London Zoo Little Creatures Family Festival is back! From Friday 29th to Sunday  31st August, there is a whole weekend packed with animal fun at ZSL London Zoo.

As well as the Zoo’s 17,000 animals to see, there are all sorts of live demonstrations, games, storytelling, workshops and a Teddy Bear Picnic!

Tiger Cub Exploring Outdoors at ZSL London ZooOne of the highlights at this year’s festival has to be the chance to get up close to London’s only tiger cubs!

Three cubs were born at ZSL London Zoo this year, two boys and one girl. And since Sumatran Tigers come from Indonesia, each of the cubs has an Indonesian name – there’s Budi, Nakal and Cinta.

Tiger-Cubs-with-MumIt is thought there are only 300 Sumatran tigers in the wild, so this is a fantastic chance to actually see real life tiger cubs. Right now, they’re having fun starting to explore their paddock!

And while you’re there you’ll also be able to see the grown ups too – Sumatran tigers Jae Jae and Melati.

Learn all about these amazing creatures, plus the really important conservation work ZSL is doing to make sure these creatures exist for may more years to come.

To give you a sneak peek, here’s a video of the tiger cubs exploring outside for the first time:
