The popular children’s classic The Secret Garden has enchanted children and adults alike since it was first serialised in a periodical exactly 100 years ago.
But now Random House Children’s Books are looking for a new cover and want you help
You need to send in a drawing or painting (without any writing) on a piece of paper no larger than A4 by 23rd July.
All you have to do is create a cover based on the image that you consider to be the strongest in you mind having read the book. Perhaps the hidden walled garden? The robin who shows Mary the secret garden? Or the manor house?
Click to www.vintage-classics.info/thesecretgarden to find further tips, information and terms and conditions.
The competition is open to 7 to 12 year olds.
The winner will receive £100 worth of books of their choice from Random House Children’s Books, along with their cover featuring on the new Vintage Classics edition, and two runners-up will be able to choose £50 worth and £30 worth of books from Random House Children’s Books.
The winner will be announced in Young Times in the week of 25th October.
