SUMMARY:The National Space Centre: Astrobiology LIVE Space Q&A
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special #SciFRI as we speak with Charles Cockell\, professor of astrobiology at the University of Edinburgh.\nFriday is officially the best day of the week #SciFRI \nProfessor Cockell studies life in extreme environments\, the habitability of extraterrestrial environments\, and space biology. He currently sits on the science advisory committee of NASA’s Center for the Utilization of Biological Engineering in Space (CUBES). He was Principal Investigator of BioRock\, an ESA experiment that flew to the International Space Station in 2019 and demonstrated for the first time mining of elements in space using microbes. He is Chair of the Earth and Space Foundation\, a small foundation he founded in 1994 that gives out grants to field research that links environmentalism and space exploration and has funded over 60 projects since it was established. \nNow you have an opportunity to ask your #Astrobiology questions and join the National Space Centre ONLINE for a special Q&A. \nHow do I ask a question?\nAsk your questions in advance on our Facebook event page (we will be selecting in advance\, but cannot guarantee we will be able to answer all the questions). \nHow to watch the LIVE session?\nJoin us at 19:00 on our Facebook page on 13 November 2020. The session will go live at this time\, or just after. \nCan I watch the session at a later date?\nYes\, the session will remain on our Facebook page after the event for you to watch at any time. \nWho is this session suitable for?\nAnybody and everybody with an interest in the past\, present and future of space exploration. The National Space Centre is an educational charity and last year we hosted over 80\,000 school visits\, so everything we do is created to inspire and educate. \nIs there a cost to watch the session?\nNo\, please do not follow third party links that ask for information or money to participate. This is a FREE session. \nThanks to Professor Cockell for his support and participation in this event. \nWatch here!
