Christmas Carols and Concerts @ Southwark Cathedral (29 November – 17 December)

Midday-Christmas-carol-se-001Southwark Cathedral will be hosting a number of fantastic concerts throughout December.

The carols take place from the end of November and into December so there should be plenty of scope for those who are busy, or of course for those who want to go more than once. There are a series of candlelit concerts and a one off lunch time sing in for commuters.
All carol concerts are free and open to the public unless otherwise stated
Check out what you can expect below:

Supported by The Seafarers UK:

Seafarers UK are pleased to partner, once again, an exciting collaboration between The Merbecke Choir of Southwark Cathedral and The Little Baroque Co., directed by Huw Morgan. Alongside Bach’s Magnificat, the choir will perform modern and renaissance carols by Schtz, Praetorius, Sandstrom, and Gabriel Jackson.

There will be a pre-concert reception starting at 6.30pm for those who would like to join us for a glass of sparkling wine and a mince pie before the performance. So why not bring your family and friends together. Bankside is a vibrant area and you might like to consider combining the day with your Christmas shopping at Borough Market and end your day with a magical evening of candlelit music and performance in the wonderful setting of Southwark Cathedral. The perfect way to prepare for Christmas and to get into the festive spirit.

We do hope you will consider joining us in the stunning setting that is London’s oldest Gothic Church building. Tickets are priced at £16, or £25 to include a pre-concert reception in the Garry Weston Library at the Cathedral, beginning at 6.30pm. For further information, or to book tickets, please call 020 7932 0000 or email [email protected]

For those in the ‘Cathedral family’ there are opportunities to purchase tickets in a slightly different price band.  To see if you qualify for this please contact Rose Harding on 020 7367 6704 – this purchase would be operating outside the spirit of fundraising for Seafarers UK
