Family Film Fundays at BFI Southbank (January)

BFI Southbank are always putting on great family fun events where you can see iconic films, take part in Q&As and lots more!

In January there’s two family fun events for you to check out.

house-of-blundenOn Sunday 19th January, watch The Amazing Mr Blunden, as part of the BFI’s blockbuster project GOTHIC: The Dark Heart of Film.

The film follows a family down on their luck who are given the chance to look after a country mansion by the mysterious Mr Blunden. And so they set off to start a new life, ignoring rumours that the house may be haunted!

As well as the screening, the BFI will be hosting a Q&A with two of the actors, Madeline Smith and Rosalyn Landor!

the-idle-class-charlie-chaplinThen on Sunday 26th January, as part of the LOCO Film Festival, you can see Charlie Chaplin’s classic film The Idle Class.

Filmed in 1921, it stars Charlie Chaplin’s most memorable on-screen character, The Little Tramp, where he causes chaos at a smart golf resort when he’s mistaken for a wealthy businessman.

The film will be accompanied by a live soundtrack from some of Britain’s brightest young ragtime musicians. And before the film, take part in The School of Slapstick Funday in the Foyer from 11am!
