Framed Film Festival @ Barbican (17 to 25 November 2012)

For the many film fans out there, you should definitely head to Barbican to check out the Framed Film Festival 2012.

It’s the first in what is to become an annual showcase of international films, activities and special events all designed for young people aged 4 to 18 years old.

Held at the Barbican and eight different venues across London, this is a unique festival for those wanting to get involved with film.

Here’s some of the cool stuff they’ve got coming up:

Ernest and Celestine

This is the opening family film, an animated tale based on the books by Gabrielle Vincent about the unlikely friendship of a gruff bear and a crafty mouse.

When Santa Fell to Earth

This film will be getting special previews at this year’s festival. When the most unusual Santa you’ll ever meet comes crashing down to Earth, a new boy in town gets plunged into a pretty crazy adventure!

Based on the book by Cornelia Funke, this is a great film to get you in the mood for Christmas!

BAFTA & Aardman Animate It! presents The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists!

This is an on-stage animation workship that will take you behind the scenes of Aardman’s latest film! There will also be drop-in workshops taking over the Barbican foyers.

Strike a Pose

This workshop gives you the chance to try your hand at stage make up, experiment with film sets and strike a dramatic pose for the camera!

Animation Station

Learn how to make characters come alive with animated drawings, stop framne and light box animation.
