Songs for the Summer Concerts at the National Gallery (7 and 21 August; 6pm)

national-gallerySongs for the Summer Concerts

Come and enjoy the warm sounds of a summer evening at the National Gallery

This year there are two concerts:

7 August
Award-winning vocalist Tom Rust performs music from the album ‘Saints and Singers’. The result of a long-standing collaboration with pianist/arranger Malcolm Edmonstone and his vibrant trio, this release showcases Rust’s considerable vocal ability, tackling hip arrangements of Great American Songbook classics with flair and accessible charm. Tom Rust is eliciting rave reviews on the jazz and soul scene with what has been called his mellifluous tones, mellow, smooth and ‘lived-in’ voice.

21 August
Acclaimed Polish singer Monika Lidke performs jazz ballads from her new album ‘Waking up to Beauty’, backed by young British jazz musicians. Currently based in London, Monika is a multilingual songwriter and will sing songs in French, Polish and English. Her lilting compositions fuse many styles with intoxicating results.

Times and Cost
