Teenager Kim used to be a skateboarding champion but, since her motherβs death, she has had to take on extra responsibilities within her family. When sheβs offered a catering job at a prestigious ski resort in the Alps, she realizes itβs her chance to escape her humdrum life. What follows is a clash of cultures as Kim finds herself rubbing shoulders with the rich and privileged. Kim also develops a crush on her boss Jonny, and is presented with a chance to reconnect with her childhood (and potentially win some prize money) when she discovers snowboarding.

Based on the Marvel comic book, this slick, visually spectacular superhero epic sees powerful warrior Thor – a figure from Norse myth – cast out of the fantastic realm of Asgard just before taking over from his wise, ageing father Odin. Heβs sent to live on Earth among humans until he can overcome his arrogance and impetuosity – flaws which had led him to reignite an ancient war. In the dusty New Mexico town he’s expelled to Thor encounters romance with super-smart astrophysicist Jane Foster, and must learn what it takes to be a hero when dark forces from Asgard invade Earth.
