You can take part in a pretty cool campaign this summer – tracking down flying ants!
Each summer flying ants erupt from the ground seemingly without warning and often at the same time across large parts of the country.
So the Society of Biology has launched a new recording scheme to find out more about this phemonenon. And to help them they need you and your friends to let them know whenever you see flying ants this summer.
When you see a flying ant all you need to do is jot down the time, date, location and weather conditions and then give these details through an online survey at www.societyofbiology.org/flyingantsurvey
You can also share your photos by emailing them here and they may even make your photos publich on Flickr!
The results of the survey will be revelaed during the ifrst ever Biology Week from 13th to 19th Octoer – click here to find out more about Biology Week.
