There’s many things we dream of being a champion in – football, tennis, cooking… But how about eating hot dogs?
Joey ‘Jaws’ Chestnut is the world dog-eating champio, and kept hold of his title this week by eating 62 hot dogs in 10 minutes, winning the International Hot Dog Eating Contest for the fifth straight time.
As well as the title he won £6,250 in prize money.
However, amazingly, this was not his personal record, which is 68 hot dogs!
Former champion Takeru Kobayashi held his own unofficial contest, reportedly eating 69 hot dogs. He didn’t compete at the official contest because of an argument over contracts with the event sponsor Major League Eating.
He has however recently beaten his rival Jaws in a pizza-eating contest!
We’re not making this up!
The idea of 62 hot dogs though just seems far too much – we’re more than happy with just the one!
