What are capybara, you might be asking? To be honest, we didn’t know either until we saw these photos. Now we know they’re incredibly cute animals!
Capybara are the largest member of the rodent species and are close relatives to chinchillas and guinea pigs. They live in South America and love swimming – in fact they can remain underwater for up to five minutes!
These photos are from Chessington World of Adventures Resort where the capybara called Zena recently gave birth to triplets.
According to Keeper Jenny Fisher: “Capybara are naturally very social animals, and the energetic triplets have spent the past few days getting to know each other – and keeping their mother very busy indeed!”
