A lost chapter from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which was cut from Roald Dahl’s final version, has been published for the very first time!
The unused fifth chapter takes the reader to the Vanilla Fudge Room in Willy Wonka’s factory!
As you’d expect, it’s fill to the brim with mountains of scrummy, vanilla-ry fudge!
The chapter also features two funny, new characters, called Tommy Troutbeck and Wilbur Rice.
But the pair meet a sticky end when they ignore Wonka’s warnings and ride the fudge wagons into The Pounding and Cutting Room!
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was first published in 1964 and this October marks its 50th anniversary!
