Earlier in the year we told you about the RHS Young Photographer of the Year 2012 award and tried to get you to enter.
Well, if you did we’ve got great news. The winner has been announced!
And the winner is… Alex Berryman with his picture Juvenile Robin.
Here it is:
There were thousands of entries from young people all over the world, so don’t worry if you didn’t win. The competition was fierce.
James Arnold, the competition organiser, says: βThe judges have been astounded by the extraordinary quality of images. It was very difficult to choose a winner, but Alexβs young robin, beak wide open and with fantastic texture of youthful feathers, stood out as the winner.β
The winner, Alex, said: βI am extremely pleased to have won the competition, and even more so to have won it with one of my favourite photographs.β
Dick and Dom joined the judging panel and had this to say: βThe competition is a great opportunity for young people to get outside and explore nature, while doing something creative. Well done to Alex, he really has done a smashing job.β
