We’ve seen some strange contests in our time but they don’t come any stranger than this – the World Black Pudding Throwing Championships!
The annual event sees hundreds of black pudding fans descent on Ramsbottom in Lancashire to try and claim the weird world title!
Competitors have to throw the breakfast sausage at a pile of Yorkshire puddings – stacked high in the air on a 2 foot plinth!

This year’s competition was won by 63-year-old John Barrett whose son-in-law conquered the ‘pud chuck’ event the year before!
