DESCRIPTION:During the Easter holidays there will be a range of Easter and Springtime themed craft activities available daily at The Watercress Line stations in Alresford & Ropley. \n\n\n\n\nTicket holders can get involved and decorate an Easter card\, make spring flowers from paper\, create a design on a stone for your garden\, learn how to make a colourful Easter chick\, or make ‘bouncing bunnies’. You can also make a Bug House from various different materials. \n \nThere will be nature walks in the nearby Four Acres field (near Ropley station)\, where you could be lucky to see butterflies\, rabbits\, robins\, red kites\, wild flowers\, orchids & even snakes! \nTravel up and down the line\, where you can hop on and off at the heritage stations through the day\, enjoying the glorious Hampshire countryside. \nAll activities are included in the train ticket price and are between 10am – 4pm. \nGet your tickets here!

There will be characters at each station to bring the railway to life in an engaging way for all. \nMeet the Station Master in Alresford and learn how his garden contributed to the war effort and take home your very own tomato seeds to grow yourself. \nAt Ropley you can learn more about the role of women on the railway and the work they carried out on the locomotive Canadian Pacific.  \nLearn more about trade during the war at Medstead and Alton from the suave Spiv Bertie Bridges and see if you can help Local Defence Volunteer Norman Bishop find his lost Oxo cubes at Alton. \nDates: 9th-10th April 2022 and 15th-18th April 2022.

DESCRIPTION:The Watercress Line is a heritage steam railway in Hampshire that runs 10 miles between the market towns of Alresford and Alton. \nThe railway is helping families re-live steam railway travel from the 1940s to 1960s. \nA family ticket will give you all day travel so you can explore the whole railway – from the stations at Alresford\, Ropley\, Medstead & Four Marks and Alton\, to the locomotive works at Ropley. \nYou’ll even be able to explore the locomotive yard and get up close to the huge engines!
