If you love taking photos (especially of the weather!) then this could be your big moment!
The Royal Meteorological Society’s Weather Photographer of the Year competition is now open, and there’s a special category just for young people under 18.
It’s called Young Weather Photographer of the Year, and it’s completely free to enter.
Whether it’s a dramatic thunderstorm, a colourful rainbow, a misty morning or snowflakes dancing through the sky, this competition is all about capturing the amazing weather around us.
You don’t need a fancy camera either. Photos taken on your phone are totally fine!
You can enter up to five photos, as long as they were taken in the last ten years.
The judges are a mix of weather experts and photography pros. They’re looking for pictures that show off the power, beauty, and impact of weather.
Winners get their photos shown around the world, including in exhibitions and magazines.
It’s a great way to show off your skills, learn more about photography, and help people understand just how important the weather is.
So if you’re always snapping pics of clouds, sunsets, snow or storms, this is your time to shine!
Add a commentHead to the RMetS website for details on how to enter. Good luck – we can’t wait to see what you capture!
