Buckingham Palace has announced the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Queen Elizabeth II was the UK’s longest-serving monarch and died at Balmoral aged 96, after reigning for 70 years.
It’s tradition for a printed statement to be placed on the gates of Buckingham Palace. The official statement says she died peacefully.
