We’re looking to expand our Fun Kids team and build up a roster of presenters who we can start to bring on to the station.
Fun Kids is a unique radio station. It broadcasts nationally on DAB Digital Radio to over a quarter of million children each week. It’s also very multi-platform, with its videos generating 2million views a month. Our presentation team are a young bunch who create content that resonates perfectly with 6 to 12 year olds.
We’re often the first stop for people after student/community radio, whilst our alumni have gone on to present for CBBC and CITV, Radio 1, The Hits, Capital and Bauer’s BC1 network.
As we’re quite a specialist station we’ve decided to host a focused training day to work with a number of potential presenters to see if they’re the kind of person that would work on the station.
We’re opening that day up to any applicants. If you’re interested please fill in the form below.
However, the key things that we’re after:
1. Experience in solo radio presenting (student/community radio/podcast is fine)
2. Comfortable presenting on-camera (you don’t need to have done lots of it, but some experience is good)
3. Happy to be silly (it’s a radio station for children after all)
4. Joyful, positive outlook, down to earth
5. Ready to learn
6. Free on Saturday 8th July (as that’s when the day is)
In the form we’re asking for some audio. This very much shouldn’t be a general demo or the best bits of a show. Instead what we’re after are two bits of audio in one mp3 file. One should be something that talks up something on the radio station/website, the second should be an entertaining story from you that works for our audience. Have a listen to 6.30am-9am/3pm-8pm to get an idea how the current team do it. It doesn’t have to be brilliantly produced, record it on your phone if necessary, it’s the content and style we’re interested in.
You’ve got until the end of the 25th June to fill this in. We’ll then email the successful applicants.
Please select a valid form.
