The British movie The King’s Speech has continued attracting praise after getting 12 nominations for this year’s Oscars, including Best Film and also Best Actor for Colin Firth.

We are also delighted to discover that Toy Story 3 has also made it into the Best Film category, going against other films like Inception, The Fighter and The Social Network.

Toy Story 3 has also been nominated for Best Animated Feature Film, alongside How to Train Your Dragon and The Illusionist, and has nominations for Best Script and Best Original Song too.

Tim-Burton-Alice-In-WonderlandJonny Depp and director Tim Burton must be disappointed that they didn’t manage to get a Best Actor or Best Film nomination for Alice in Wonderland, but the film has been nominated for the Art Direction category, along with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt1. This award focuses on the look and sound of a film with the prize going to the Production Designer and Set Decorator.

Alice in Wonderland – with all those amazing, crazy costumes – has also been nominated for Best Costume Design.

iron_man_2_twitter1It has been a great year for films with fantastic effects and so the Visual Effects category is going to be tough to call. Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter, Inception and Iron Man 2 are all battling it out.
