Having Super Strength

Solve these dilemmas with Bene and Mal!

Having super strong muscles to fight bad people would be a good idea!

Now I bet if you get picked on, the idea of being able to punch like the Hulk might seem quite appealing.

You’d certainly want super strength on your side.

Just imagine if you could move massive things like lorries and rubble with your bare hands.  Being super strong would be super helpful!

But what about if all that super strength was on the other side?

Who decides who’s gonna get the superhero treatment?

Some people try to get the superhero treatment today with chemicals, but these can have effects that you don’t want, as well as those you do.

You should know all the side effects of any chemical before you put it inside your body!

Having superhuman strength would be amazing for some things, but tricky for others! Imagine the cool things you could do if you were super strong:

  • Lifting massive objects like cars in an emergency or clearing rubble would be a minor inconvenience, not an obstacle.
  • You could be invaluable in rescue operations, helping trapped people or creating paths for rescue teams.
  • You would be awesome at any sport that needs strength, like weightlifting or throwing. You could jump higher and move faster.
  • Everyday tasks are easy – stubborn jar lids? No problem! Pushing heavy furniture to clean? Easy-peasy!
  • Having such unique power would likely make you feel good about yourself and confident.

But living in the real world with superhuman strength would have some big problems, too:

  • Our world is built for normal human strength. You might accidentally break door handles, snap pencils, or crush your glasses just by using them normally.
  • Giving a friend a high-five or a hug could be dangerous if you can’t control your immense power perfectly.
  • Your muscles might be super strong, but your bones, tendons, and joints are still normal human parts. Using too much force could cause serious injuries like broken bones or dislocated joints.
  • If you punch something really hard, the law of physics says an equal force pushes back on you. That means you could get knocked down or hurt just as much as what you hit.
  • Everyone would constantly ask you to help them move furniture or lift things.
  • Your body would use a lot more energy, so you’d be super hungry all the time to keep your strength up.

So, while having superhuman strength sounds exciting, it would come with a lot of challenges and the need for super self-control!
