These days it’s pretty easy to find out ANYTHING, with a few clicks on your smartphone.

So it can be REALLY annoying that it’s not that simple to find out when your periods will start. And if your friends are beginning to start their periods, and you haven’t, it can feel like you’ll be waiting FOREVER.

Well – We’re all different – and that’s an amazing thing. Differences in our bodies mean our periods will start at different times.

Here’s what we do know…

Periods are something which happen to girls only, and they usually begin when you’re somewhere between 8 and 13.

You might have noticed that your body is beginning to change, its possible you’ve started to wear a bra. Some people find their skin gets a bit spotty too.

All these changes can show that your periods might be on the way soon.

But even if you’re older than 13, or it seems like you’ve been waiting for EVER don’t panic!

Look at it this way – the longer you have to wait, the more time you’ll have to learn what to expect. If you have started earlier than your friends that’s cool too – maybe you can share some tips with them.

And even if NO ONE you know has started their periods and you’ve got questions there are loads of places to find out more. Why not ask your mum or a teacher you like?

If you’re a bit shy, you can always go online. You might not be able to find the exact date your periods will start but there’s stacks of great information out there to help you prepare.
