One Direction is the boy band consisting of Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne.
They were put together on The X Factor in 2010 and after six years and five albums, they decided to go on hiatus.
A hiatus is a way of pausing something. Technically, One Direction havenβt broken up; theyβve just hit pause on the band and have stopped making music together.
Lots of people think that since this is One Directionβs tenth anniversary, they might surprise fans and release new music.
There are a few people saying this and there have been some interesting hints in the past few months that make fans think it might be on the cards.
In an interview on another radio station, one of the boys said that heβs sure they will do something to mark the bandβs tenth year.
Then, in January 2020, the One Direction website was updated after being offline for a few hours. People noticed that although nothing new had been posted, the copyright notice at the bottom of the website changed to the current year.
There are even rumours of a One Direction movie floating around, similar to their 2013 film This Is Us. Liam Payne himself seemed to confirm it in a recent interviewβ¦
