Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity is a charity that provides specialist nurses and support to seriously ill children all over the UK!
They need money to do that and that’s were the fundraising comes in!
Not so long ago they had a competition to and they wanted kids send in their fundraising ideas. You may have seen the competition on the Fun Kids website and entered yourself!
And the winning idea was from…
Sarah came up with the idea to host a Roald Dahl film night, dress up as your favourite Roald Dahl character, provide drinks and snacks for guests and give a donation to Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity!
The judges thought Sarah’s idea was a simple and creative way for people to raise money for the charity, which provides specialist nurses and support to seriously ill children.
And the runners up…
She had the idea to arrange a teddy bears picnic and you can pay to attend with donations going to Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity. Prizes could be awarded to best teddy story, best cake, best picnic, best layout and oldest teddy.
She came up with a homemade movie idea: “Children will be sponsored to make a short movie clip from their favourite Roald Dahl book. They can use a phone/iPad to film it and either be in the film (with friends) or use puppets. They need to get into character and have lots of fun!”
Her idea was that “Children could get sponsored to draw as many characters as they can from each Roald Dahl book and at the end draw people could donate some more money to buy their favourite.”
All the ideas were judged by some famous people…
