Bristol has a long and exciting history in building planes and rockets! For more than 100 years, people in the city have been designing and making machines that can fly high above the ground β and even into space.
One of the most famous projects was Concorde, the supersonic jet that could fly from London to New York in under four hours. Bristol engineers helped design its powerful engines, which made a noise like thunder when they took off!
At Aerospace Bristol, you can experience all of this in person
