Mr Turner (12A)

Mr Turner is a biopic about the last quarter of legendary Artist J.M.W Turner’s life. Turner is famous for perhaps being one of the greatest painters that ever lived, and this film shows the story behind the genius. We follow Mr Turner through his travels, his love life, and his stays with the country’s elite, as well as, of course, his quest to paint spectacular pictures, including the time he had himself strapped to the mast of a ship so he could paint a snowstorm!

Whilst this may not sound as fun to watch as a film like Despicable Me, it is a great chance to learn about an iconic historical figure.

Godzilla (12A)

This reboot brings back the legendary monster Godzilla to terrorise the USA! Following an apparent meltdown at a Tokyo nuclear plant and – 15 years later- the arrival of prehistoric creatures craving radioactive energy, Godzilla emerges from the deep in Hawaii to add to the terrifying chaos facing humanity. The subsequent battle, complete with explosions of fire and tumbling skyscrapers is grand, noisy and lots fun.

True to the original, this epic blockbuster also contains a message about humans treatment of nature. Be prepared to jump out of your seat!
