Fun Kids teams up with Young Audio Awards and there’s a brand new category: My Year in Audio!

Find out everything you need to know below!

Fun Kids are once again teaming up with the Young Audio Awards!

That’s the national awards for 8- to 18-year-olds with a passion for creating audio.

This year we’re encouraging kids across the UK to enter a special new category at school – with a new star studded school assembly video and teacher classroom resource available.

Along with the Primary School Station of the Year award with Fun Kids, there is a new category β€˜My Year in Audio’

That’s in collaboration with mental health charity YoungMinds.

The category encourages you to use phones, tablets or microphones to record your thoughts about the last two years.

That’s basically your experience during the coronavirus pandemic. The aim is to get young people talking about their feelings.

Entries could be about the things that have helped young people cope, advice for others or lessons learnt during the pandemic.

The audio entry could be in the form of a podcast or radio show, an interview, a piece of poetry or more.

You can encourage teachers to download a fun school assembly video hosted by Fun Kids presenter George, alongside well known radio stars.

There is also a classroom resource and lesson plan available to teachers, so students can begin to create their audio entries from school.
